INDUSTRIAL PEACE? ALL QUIET AT THE LABOR FRONT

Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz listens intently to former Labor Chief Benny Laguesma during the celebration of the 88th Birth Anniversary of the late Johnny Tan, founder of the Federation of Free Workers (FFW) at the union’s Headquarters in Manila on 10/10/10. Laguesma was rumored to be the Labor Secretary in waiting. The speculation was fueled when Dimapilis-Baldoz' appointment was not immediately submitted to the Commission on Appointments for confirmation. Her tag as “acting” Secretary, however, has been removed more than a week ago, after President Noynoy Aquino referred to her as “idol”.
